Desert Storm is not yet up to par with the other strategies, but, I think it only needs a little boost. Option 1: Let Helicopters capture (ala destroyers) Makes sense, as they can land, unlike bombers, anywhere. Option 2: Stacking bonus. change the attack to +1 (instead of +2) and Each helicopter adds .20 (.1?) atk to the stack. So 5 (10?) helicopters would be the same as the current, but 10 would be +3 (+2?) total, with a stacking cap of +3. Option 3: Marine Capacity Option 4: Stealth Helicopters.

Are you serious? I don't wanna be rude, but i think DS is a very strong strategy, and i expected a topic about getting it nerfed and not boosted. The marine capacity is a good idea, but then it has to go at the cost of something else.

DS is only a strong strat against people who aren't expecting it. My win ratio with it is about 75% But people who are expecting it can rape so easily. DS < anything with boosted militia.

I think the balance is in the boost. Strats should feel completely independent from one another. Sure you might have to do something to balance it.... but it needs to be better than SM for helicopters.

The problem with ds is that is totally mauled by anyone with half a brain, and has no advantage against the most played strats mos owns it because cheap stealths and having almost twice as much attack as the helis defence gw is just as good as it always is, you can also resort to bomber stacking sm as many have already established rapes DS imp being crap against DS is total bullshit because any half decent imp player would stack bombers as soon as they had a decent income to counter ds. GC i would just wall tank stacks around cities i know the guy will attack with his helicopters. The main issue with ds is helicopters are too easily destroyed by quicker bombers that have more attacking and defending opportunities. i have played ds quite a lot. the main issue i have as a world game player is that DS just gets weaker and weaker as the game progresses.

I propose a much, much simpler boost as I was pondering how to boost it earlier today, actually, when I saw this thread. Why not just give helis an upgrade for a single transport capacity, not just marines? This would allow the transport of AA guns, allowing a strategic if not difficult way to try and hold off against Sky Menace. As SM and it's bombers tend to be the downfall of every DS player, I think that this would hopefully at least give them a fair chance, if not a difficult one. Edit: This also would allow for Helicopters to use other types of units to capture cities, one of the most commonly suggested buffs to DS.

SM doesn't rape DS... Why? Because SM's only bonus is that they can rape helicopters, but if DS player protects helicopter well and walls them etc, SM player won't get a chance to attack large stacks of helis. I am not saying that SM is not a good counter to DS, but it certainly doesn't "rape" it.

Walling helicopters, if you're playing a smart opponent, cannot last forever and doesn't actually do anything to defeat the good majority of a SM player's army. Being able to actually transport said infantry or AA guns on your helicopters, however, actually provides a fair way to defend them without ridiculous spending on air transports. Fighting an SM opponent should still be a difficult task by most means, but you actually would stand a fair enough chance should you be smart and capable of using your single unit transport.

No, but Helicopters lose extra defense against bombers on top of the already existing boosts that SM bombers get
