Probabilistically, considering the sheer scale of the Observable Universe, it seems extremely unlikely that there doesn't exist any kind of life that we can understand other than our own on Earth.

True. Which is where the Fermi Paradox comes into play, since we should have already encountered that intelligent life at least via radio signals. We should be drowning in them actually. So either:
a) most civilizations wipe themselves out through overpopulation, overindustrialization, wars etc as well as natural disasters (which is just sad, and quite likely where we humans are concerned)
b) we've been quarantined along the lines of Starfleet's Prime Directive
c) we're one of the first intelligent civilizations (which would be awesomely cool - we get to call other aliens primitive and look down our nose at them XD)
d) the Reapers are real, and the Mass Effect story writers are actually doomsday prophets

I believe there is life out there in some sort of bacterial way or even a little more complex like small creatures but they are so far away
we wont see them in our life time or for that matter even maybe never , if we dont discover some kind of interstellar propulsion systems we are doomed here imo

You're evidence of their existance.

Just because we haven't found evidence of them does not mean they are not there. Remember, we did not always have evidence to support the existence of atoms or of viruses or bacteria, but they were always there. What was not there was the technology to prove them. Now people are bringing up how our radio waves have flooded space and we hsould be bombarded with responses; however, an article came out last week syaing that our waves have reached less than 1% of the milky way, not even the universe :O , and that we shouldn't make a conclusion until we have reached at least 50%. According to the scientist in the article, we will have to wait 1300 years for definitive answers if we receive no "responses." XD
