Why are 2 atheists/agnostics/anti-religious guys talking whole the time about inter-religion things by generalising them and interpretating in a completely wrong way? If you dont want to take religion in some serious way even you are not believing and even try to look deeper in thing, than please dont assume all on this idotic childish way(s) because you are talking bullshits, but really. I was like this when I was in kindengarden like 'my daddy is stronger than yours'. It is equal to this way like you are talking now 'if you dont help, you will be burned in hell, that is what religion says' I admit, there are idiotic religious people, but in a same way as there are idiotic people on another side, so, please, grow up and ask if you dont understand the Bible or any other thing about religion, just please. Bible has its points, there is not all for granted. Get that

Bible is a great fiction/philosophical book with some historical elements. Its a good read and it served a purpose when it was created by instilling some moral values into people and giving them hope, at stressfull times and given the limited knowledge and scientific advancements of the time. Thats all. Moove on.

I'll just dump this here, Thank you Goblin, for taking the time doing these
No need for further discussions here Buckethead would not be proud of you, Unleashed
what makes you think that you are a good person? You are extremely hateful towards everyone in this forum and you have a massive ego, if that makes you a good person then I must be a saint. Take this advice: If you think that you own the truth and everybody else is wrong, you are most likely wrong ( and your opinions are based on cartoons you find online)

Which 2 people? There are more than that. What other way am I supposed to interpret "kill your neighbour on a Sunday"? What way? Should I ask him to kill his own self? Or do I hire a murderer? What? Tell me what to do! I don't know how to interpret it. *weeps*
If you want to take religion seriously, you throw it away as soon as you grow up.
No one said that. What was said is this "Well, you can be a philanthropist and burn in hell forever, provided that you don't believe in a god."
What other side? There is no other side. What I don't understand about religion is why so many people are fooled into it. Oh wait! I do know that. And most sensible people do, too. Many people want to feel that someone is watching over, guiding them, protecting them because they believe they can't do it on their own.
Bible has its points, yes. God told you to murder your neighbour on a Sunday, if you see him working. Why don't you stop cherry-picking? You don't like the "kill your neighbour if he works on a Sunday" verse? Then throw the whole thing away. Yes, stop believing it altogether. *-why I keep using that verse - simply because it's too good not to. I can list numerous other examples but I'm not interested.

There is no voluntary action. All psychology is a reaction to variables set by our senses and interpreted by our minds. What you would interpret as 'voluntary' action is action which is fueled by a reward-center dopamine kick in our brain, similar to that of gambling or shopping addicts. Religion in itself is not a flawed concept. Christianity is not inherently flawed, nor is Islam, nor Judaism. They have just all been turned into political tools by the rulers of old to suit their reigns, but religion has arguably been very morally benefiting as a lone man, in a world filled with death, pain and suffering, is very prone to go insane if left to his own devices without a proper moral code, and the REWARD at the end of the long road, HEAVEN. Religion and social codes is the only way we as humans can prevent ourselves from going completely insane and slaughtering each other for a piece of bread. These rules were laid out, originally, for the greater benefit of humanity. But there will always be prophets and there will be corruption of the prophets words. And there will always be the enlightened, the foolish, simple-minded sheep and the foolish simple-minded anti-sheep like you, Unleashed. Hating on religion is just turning the perspective 180 degrees and doing JUST THE SAME THING that has brought us to the very edge of ruin so many times. And no, I'm not Muslim, I don't consider myself a prophet, and I don't consider myself enlightened. I just believe that people need to put a real perspective on things instead of holding on to their petty preferences and differences. Doing the right thing for the wrong reason is in the end no different from doing it for the right reason.

Voluntary actions can't be proven, but there is some rather strong evidence in support of them... If nothing was voluntary, why bother with consciousness? Our consciousness evolves as a result of the choices we make, and the feedback received from those choices. If we were simply the effect of a causal chain, it makes little sense that there would be probability outcomes at the quantum and macro levels. If there is probability, determinism fails, and while it doesn't 'prove' free will, it does introduce the concept of influencing probabilities... this could be the essence of our consciousness, and in that case, our decisions our voluntary. ....
