Hi there,

Would you share your expectations on the war strategy game? What would be your most desirable functionality?

I would expect to see a great amount of re-playability, realistic war weapons, story, intuitive UI, nice strategic and tactical map, some story behind, various battle scenarios and challenging enough AI. Certainly to be impress to find good variety of military equipment at my disposal and ability to customize my units. How hard the game should be?
What you will expect to see in the game and what will definitely frustrate you?

My expectation?
Well, I have some really low expectations, so I won't even bother talking about it.

My "ideal" war game will include:

1. Grand Strategy
A state is more than its military. Realism or at least some depth in internal politics, diplomacy, and economics go a long way towards making me love the game.

2. Long term view
How and why did that war start (and how can the player influence it)? What atrocities were conducted during the war? Which armies glorified themselves, and which were defeated in shame? Once you win/lose the war, then what? How different is the world when the game ends, from when it begins?

3. Sandbox Gameplay
If, in the world I've shaped in-game, it seems more sensible (and possible) to avoid a scheduled war, or fight one that isn't intended to be in the game, I should be able to do so.

4. Unconventional Conflict
Funding coups in countries you don't like, not to mention economic sanctions/embargoes are all very fun ways to bring down a country, no? Of course, I still have my army, if those things... don't work out as intended.

Very exact and clear expectations. What about the military equipment? Do you think it is important to have many guns, planes, tanks, ships on hand or? For me the good equipment is also very important. I would like to have at least 12 F-16 and build different formations for air attacks.

Yes, this too. I like to replay some old games from time to time and improve my own records. What about you?

Equipment? For me, I prefer simplicity in equipment and technology.

Small Arms I, II, III, IV...
Anti-armour I, II, III, IV...
Radio Communications I, II, III, IV...
etc. etc. will work just fine for me. Better, since I can actually understand what each thing does.
