Bigger guns or more guns?

Dear friends,

In order to win a strategy and war game what would you choose more guns with a smaller caliber or less guns with bigger caliber?
For me big guns go boom but they tend to be innacurate and have a slow reload due to the bulk and weight of the ammunition. It isn't such a huge problem today but can be a problem.
However, lots of gun but small calibre is in my opinion the best.

In an ideal situation, a mix of the two however, if just one can be chosen i would say more smaller alober.

I say this because if you have say 10 Large guns as oppsed to 20 smaller guns, than the "enemy" would only need to take out 10 big weapons which means more resources can be diverted to one location while if they need to take out 20 they can only send half the number of resources to 20 locations. Also if one big gun for instance jams or fails, it is more catastrophic than if one small gun jams or fails as you have much more
