The English explicitly wrote in the "Encyclopedia Britannica": "Djuradj Kastriot or Skender-beg is of Serbian ethnic origin." Oliver Schmitt, a famous Viennese albanologist, wrote in his recent study that not only was Kastriot of Serbian origin, but he did not fight for the Albanian state and people, but to renew his father's homeland. Oliver is accused in Albania of "committing sacrilege and insulting Albanian national pride!"

The charter of Jovan Kastriotić, Skenderbeg's father, to the Hilandar monastery from 1426. The chronicle is called "The Second Hilandar Act", it was written in Cyrillic in the Serbian language. In the document, along with father Jovan, his sons Repos, Stanisa and Djuradj are also mentioned - namely, this is the second historical mention of Skenderbeg's name in Serbian form. The first, also in Serbian form, is in the "First Hilandar Act". Along with the Serbian form, history remembers the Latin George, Georgius - but it is never written anywhere under the Arnaut name "Gjergj". He also had a brother Kostadin, sisters Jelena, Mara, Vlajka, Angelina and Marica - also all of them are remembered and written in history only under the Serbian or Latin forms of his name. According to this contract, the management of the monastery ceded to the Kastriots for housing for "sixty florins" the pyre of St. George (Arbanassi Pirg).

Scanderbegs letter to Dubrovnik (Ragusa) on serbian cyrrilic

When Janos Hunyadi defeated the army of the Ottoman Empire near Nis in 1443, Skanderbeg left the sultan's army (where he was taken as a child), returned to his homeland and accepted Christianity again. He fraudulently took control of Croy, from which he led the fight against the Ottoman Empire, the Venetian Republic and the enemies of the King of Naples for the next 25 years, practically without a major defeat. Under the auspices of Venice, Skanderbeg was appointed to command a military alliance of nobles from northern Arbania and Zeta in March 1444. Only Christians could take part in Kastriotić's great battles, because his struggle was primarily aimed at the renewal of his Orthodox fatherland, that is, the kingdom of Epirus, which arose on the ruins of the Serbian Empire, under the rule of regional lords. Recently, Oliver Schmidt, a Viennese albanologist, stated that Skanderbeg was not actually fighting for the Arbanassi nation and state, but to regain the (Serbian) homeland, which is why he was called a national enemy in Arbania because - 'the mythical Skanderbeg is an ethnically pure Albanian who led the resistance offered by the entire Albanian people to the Turkish invasion of the Albanian territory of the medieval nation-state of the Albanian people ", although there is no evidence of such a thing.

It is interesting that in this Italian manuscript, which is kept in the Merciani Library in Venice, the coat of arms of Kastriot is almost entirely white (silver), with two black heads of a double-headed eagle. Namely, this is not a lone example of Skanderbeg's coat of arms being shown in two colors, there are a dozen such heraldic illustrations. Therefore, the question arises - the official (bad) Arbanassi romantic historiography claims that their black double-headed eagle originates from Byzantium and that their name Šćipetar originates from "sons of an eagle", but it is well known that the Byzantine eagle is golden and white the eagle was used only by Serbian gentlemen in the Middle Ages. So, this shows a good example of a kind of transition from Nemanjic's white to the black of Crnojevic's house, to whom Djuradj handed over his sister. The conclusion is very obvious, it is not primarily about the eagle of the Roman Palaeologus, but about the eagle of the Serbian Nemanjićs, which our knight Skenderbeg could rightly use. Our symbol was taken for the Arbanassi flag in 1912, not as a coat of arms - but as an emblem, because coats of arms must, as a rule, rest on a shield.

THE FIRST Kastriot is recorded in historical documents, not under the Arbanassi or Greek name, but under the Serbian name Branilo! Alas alas! Branilo Kastriotić was a servant of Emperor Dušan, who gave him the area of Janina in Epirus for management, which made him the ancestor of the Serbian noble family Kastriotić. We hope that this genealogical tree of Castriot, made by the Italians, will dissuade even the biggest skeptics about the Serbian origin of Skanderbeg, because there is really no doubt about that. The end of the name Branilo, di origine serba, is clearly visible. Also, about him wrote "Allgemeine Encyclopädie der Wissenschaften und Künste, in alphabetischer Folge von genannten Schriftstellern", 1868., page 122.

Marin Barleti (1450-1513), an Albanian-Venetian historian, writes in Skenderbeg's biography: "His father was a nobleman of Triballorum princeps" (pater nobilissimus Triballorum princeps). And while the Bulgarians in the Middle Ages were called Mezima, the Serbs were called by foreigners just like that - Tribals. This is also confirmed by Muzaka (1515), saying that the name Tribala is another name for Serbs. It is interesting that Barletti is the only "Albanian" chronicler who wrote about Skenderbeg before World War I (ha!) And who states that Skender Ban is a Serb. Nowhere does he mention Djurdj as a Shqiptar. Barletti was actually an Italian born in Shkodra, ...

"a very brave man, of the Serbian nation" writes Teodoro Spanduci in the 16th century; "spoke and wrote in Serbian" says Andrija Kačić in the 17th century; "Prince of Serbian Origin" divan Leopold Ranke in the 19th century; "Prince and Despot of Serbia" in the coats of arms of Charlotte of the 17th century;

Theodore Spandounes, 16th-century Greek historian, in his history about Otoman Empire:

The coat of arms of Crnojević, a Serbian dynasty from Zeta, is shown in an old Italian book of heraldry. A couple of things can be deduced from this:

1) The Crnojevics are also masters of Albania (which is written in Italian);

2) The eagle was taken over from Nemanjic heraldry, that is, from Tsar Dusan, only to be later taken over by the Serb Skanderbeg, who gave his sister to Crnojevici;

3) The eagle is silver, not golden as it is today on the flag of Montenegro.

Another in a series of proofs of Serbian origin by Đurđe Kastriotić is this coat of arms, which is in an Italian book of heraldry. In addition to the famous black eagle Skenderbeg, there is a raised lion with a sword in his hand on the coat of arms - which is the authentic coat of arms of Macedonia, which at that time was ruled by the Serbian regional lords Brankovici. Namely, Đurđeva's mother is Vojislav, originally from this area, her father Grgur Branković lived in the Polog castle on the site of today's village of Gradec, where Vojislava was apparently born. Until her marriage, Vojislava spent her childhood and years in Polog, on her father's property.

Vojislava married in the period from 1384. until 1388, while the Pološka valley was still near Branković. The marriage between Vojislava and Jovan Kastriot, Skenderbeg's father, took place at a time when Jovan's father Pavle, a proniar, was still alive, with a pronia of two or three villages in Maća, before the Kastriots were ascending as landowners and did not expand their estate. and formed a principality.

The Kastriots were at a lower class than Branković at the time of their marriage, and at that time they did not border their estate with the Brankovićs. Grgur Brankovic, Vojislav's father, was not as important a great man as his younger brother Vuk Brankovic.

Simplified:

The coat of arms of Đurđe Kastriot Skenderbeg, which shows his origin from Kastriot / Crnojević, which is the Serbian double-headed eagle and the coat of arms of Macedonia, where the estates of his grandfather Grgur and mother Vojislava come from, which is a lion in this position on the coat of arms of Branković

The symbol of krin/ lilies - the flower of the Mother of God, the traditional insignia of the rulers in Zeta, Raska and Bosnia, which inherits the tradition of the crown of Nemanjić, is also noticed.

The black double-headed eagle is the legacy of the Serbian dynasty Crnojević, which then ruled the state of Zeta, today's Montenegro. They are the descendants of the Zeta landowner Đuraš Ilić, who was first mentioned in 1326, accompanied by Stefan Dečanski, as the leader. In the early days, they came into conflict with the Balšić family. Duke Stefan Crnojević stood out in particular, whose wife Marija was Skenderbeg's sister - so Đurađ took the black eagle as his coat of arms. The Arnauts, as others made them a state they had not had before, took the coat of arms of Kastriot, as they did not know another national hero, for the flag and explained that they were the Shqipetars - "sons of the eagle" (actually Shqip means "to speak ", as the Slovo in Slavs, ie those who speak ).

The picture shows a manuscript source created in the middle of the 17th century, known as a transcript of the Emblem of Charolais. Here we see what is probably the original coat of arms of Kastriot, which with three golden fortresses (lat. Castrum) is actually an allusion to the family name, and they are located between the claws of the eagles of Raska and Epirus. On the side next to the name Scanderbeg is the title Roy de Seruie ou Despote - King of Serbia or Despot, which is explicitly repeated in French once again at the bottom of the text. The black double-headed eagle was therefore added to the Kastriots after family ties with the Crnojevics, Serbian nobles who had used this flag for a long time.

1573 in Sansovinova, "Historia univeryale racolta di Francesco Sansovino" clearly writes in Italian: "Very brave man, of serbian nation"

"Very brave man, of serbian nation" written by Theodoro Spandugino in 16th century. This italian historian here actually quotes words of Constantine Musaka, cousin of Scanderbeg who lived in his time. Therefore, here we have a precious source, only one century after Scanderbeg's death, where author quotes words of his relative claiming he was ethnic Serbian living in Epirus and Albania. While there is no source where is written Scanderbeg was an Squiptar (these words) or Greek. None!

Count Leopold Ranke History of the Servian People 1848 Leipzig, Germany:

"Skanderbeg's family is of Serbian origin ... he married Danica, the daughter of Duke Golem."

The family of Đurđe Kastriotić Skenderbeg originates from the old Serbian brotherhood of Branilović (Branilo) from Zeta. Skenderbeg's grandfather, Pavle Kastriotić, moved to Janjina in Epirus as a Serbian elder. Skanderbeg's father, Jovan Kastriotić, was the Nemanjic prince of Epirus, who held Mat, Kroja, Mirdita and Diber. Skanderbeg's mother, Vojislava, was the daughter of Grgur Brankovic and the granddaughter of the famous Serbian knight Vuk Brankovic. Before the end of his life, Skanderbeg's father Jovan became a monk in the Serbian monastery of Hilandar, and as a monk, Joakim died in Hilandar. Also, his brother Repos was a Hilandar monk who spent his whole life in this Serbian monastery, where he died.

Historian from Albania, Jazexhi, Olsi (2002): "Scanderbeg ... No matter what the historical facts might have been twisted, he is and will never be accepted from Albanian Muslims as the greatest defender of Christianity against Islâm or as a symbol of Albanian-Serbian brotherhood (since his mother was a Serb woman).."

First of Kastrioti kin "Der Serbe Branilo" written in Book "Allgemeine Encyclopädie der Wissenschaften und Künste, in alphabetischer Folge von genannten Schriftstellern", year 1868, page 122. Link: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/.../uyyrVtZxgWgUb7B.../s1600/5.png

Franz Babinger, german historian.

J. G. v Hahn (1811-1869), Austrian diplomat, philologist and specialist in Albanian history, language and culture: "Serbian Kastriots!

Walter Laqueur (1976): ,,The most successful of the opponents to Turkish rule was George Castriota - Skanderbeg. A SERBIAN by birth, he had served with distincion with Turkish army for many years and was a governor of a sanjak"

Bury, J. B. (1924), The Cambridge medieval history, Cambridge, Eng.: The University Press, "The national hero of Albania, still remembered throughout a land which has practically no national history except the story of his career, was of SERBIAN origin."

Jireček, Konstantin (1876): "Skanderbeg's familie war Slavischen Ursprung. Seinen väterlichen Urgrossvater Branilo finden wir 1368 an dem Hofe Alexander's, des Herrn von Valona"
-----------------
Konstantin Jiricheck (1876): "Scanderbeg's family was of slavic origin. His grandfathers name was Branilo!"

Origins of Scanderbeg's coat of arms come from Charnoevich royal family from Zeta, of serbian origin, to whom our knight gave his sister to be married with. Double headed eagle was tipical byzantine symbol but absorbed by serbian medieval state as succesor of the roman throne and its nobility, during the empire and its declination. Also this is the reason why Kastriotich familiy had white eagle in the beginning, which later it becomes black after conection wih Charnoevich family (Charno, Crno - black). Source of picture: 17-19th "Illiryan" book of heraldry.

First man in history recorded with Castriot(ich) surname was called Branilo! This medieval noble who served serbian emperor Dushan, clearly beared serbian-slavic name. Tzar Stephan Dushan gave area of Jannina in Epirus to his servant Branilo to rule there. Thus, FIRST historical documents about Scanderbeg family origins are confirming his serbian origins from his father side. Di origine serba! More:

----------

When Skenderbeg would rise from the grave and the Albanians of the Muslim faith would approach him with the words: "Skenderbeg, ti je heroi ynë kombëtar, i shqiptarëve muslimanë!" (Skanderbeg, you are our national hero, a Shqiptar Muslim!), He would first ask them to translate it into Serbian, because he didn't know a word of Albanian, and then he would answer them: "Dog faith, and who told you that?" !! Give me a sword to cut off their heads! "
