Depression

Sometimes when I'm on atWar late at night, people talk about how "depressed" they are. I understand the issue is sensitive—but why? Why would people be sensitive about their "emotions"?

I am supremely confused. There is no Earthly reason to be depressed. To be depressed is to contradict reason and ignore reality. We live in the greatest and most advanced era of all history. If you are depressed, then you must contradict reason, you must ignore reality, and for this reason, you must be an idiot.

Time and time again I see friends overwhelmed with emotions, and they remind me of some capricious drama queen. If they had perspective, if they, in other words, had intelligence, then they would see that they are idiots. Think about Cato at the time of his death. Do you think he was depressed? Do you think he was overwhelmed with emotions? No. He lost a war, and he did what he thought was right. To be overwhelmed with emotions is to be an idiot. To have no emotions is to be an idiot as well. A person could have no emotions if trained to have none as a slave. But to mitigate these sensations in accordance with reality is the most intelligent thing a person can do. Not only is it intelligent, but it is also productive.

Also, I find it highly unattractive and weak to be bound by this sort of response to circumstances that one may find himself in, no matter what they are. The point I am making is that you should not be depressed because it is a sign of weakness, it is unattractive, and beyond that it is an idiotic and short-sighted proposition.

If i didnt see it with my own eyes i wouldve never believed it, but i guess unle and tito finally found a way to procreate. How are you parents? Its quiet without them over here,

I'm usually not that depressed but for a couple of months due to some personal stuff I'm pretty depressed and I have some weird mood swings. I'm seeking therapy after lockdown.

So yes it exists. I believe you're too young to experience it yourself.

i am not sure how living in the greatest and most advanced era of history has anything to do with happiness or fulfillment.
people have different values and having a great life with awesome gadgets and gizmos won't please everyone

we are humans, not robots. we can try to act "logically" and use "reason" to justify why certain behaviors make no sense, but 9/10 times our emotions will dictate our actions
it's not weak to succumb to your own emotions, it's natural
and i'm not saying you should just wallow in sadness, but there are times where you are faced with certain circumstances and it just seems hopeless

Being sad is good. It means your brain is working.

The only solution is to live with those feeling and understand where they emanate from. That is how you evolve mature and embrace new ideals.
