This is how you host a tournament!

All of you can learn something from Tact!

It takes some time to PM everybody, I understand that. But that is in my opinion what you should do when you want to host a tournament.

Instead of small amount of host's like Tact, people put [STARTED] in their forum thread titles (smart, but not verry effective), since there is still alot of people that get kicked out because of inactivity while they're not even inactive at all. Just not as active on the forums like others. And this because alot of people don't know that tournaments suddenly started and then they randomly get kicked out of the tournament because they didnt even know the tournament started.

Messages like Tact's is what will cause less people being inactive in tournaments and people going through the first rounds by doing nothing. Take me as example, for the bullettournament made by Meester (a moderator that is against the meaningless trophies, and doesn't like that much short tournaments for a trophy price) has a high amount of inactivity. I am in round 2/3/4? in the Loser bracket while I didn't even play 1 single match for the tournament.

This is just a small example, but it definitely changes the actual meaning of tournaments.

So to make a long story short, learn from Tact and be a more consistent host please!

Perhaps the problem is the contestants and not the host?

I've started outright banning players from my future tournaments for not playing their games/ being inactive/ not replying my messages. I'll make this list publically available for other tournament hosts to use.

Sawry, I forgot to mention you did indeed message too!

But alot of others don't! And if you keep track of the tournament everyday and nothing has changed for 2 weeks, you kind off stop looking everyday and then forget it and then bammm kicked! :$.
