I would be against Putin's another term if West didn't start Cold War 2, but since they did, and Russia is still weak, i'm ok with Putin leading the nation 6 more years. Like Franklin Roosevelt. He had 4 terms despite US law forbid more than 2. I am always for utilizing peoples skills if country needs it, but to a point.

Putin is just another puppet. whether he is going to be president or not is completley irrelevant.

Had debate about that year back. Question was about leaders, how they get power next to organized corporations and their lobbies. Could be true they don't, we as average citizens can just guess.

This is inaccurate. The precedent established by Washington was max 2 terms, however the 22nd amendment which puts that precedent into law wasn't ratified until after FDR died. On topic: go Putin go!

He did run for 4th term and won didn't he? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_1932 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_1936 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_1940 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_1944 Doesn't matter anyway, it's just a good thing i can use it as an argument every time someone point at Putin and his terms, my liking for FDR is bonus

Did someone said it was illegal? Just wanted to prove that people should look in their backyard before judging foreign nations, because there are similarities and that makes them hypocrites.

I didn't accuse him, just pointed the fact. I said i don't care how he got his 3rd and 4th term, but that is fact now. Then you explained why and how, and that's it, i don't see conflict here. Russia as well forbid more than 2 terms, but constitution restarted later and made Putin possible to run again (hence Medvedev was president 2008-2012).

At the time it was legal, it wasn't made illegal until after FDR died, so he's the reason we have term limits on presidents now

I thought it was mandated since 1776, didn't know it was fixed after Roosevelt's death. Thought it was amended only during 30's era because Great Depression and World War. My bad.

Yep, 50% above other candidates. Either his popularity or US triggering Cold War, or both. Though i 'blame' US: Cold War 2, backing Ukraine, sanctions, doping scandal. They are countering Russia on each stop, so that push people behind one banner, rally behind one leader like during the war. If USA ignored Russia, Putin would have 25-50% instead 75% popularity. But it seems America never learns, instead befriending people and turning them against the leader, they push them into his arms and then cry 'regime'. Libya and Gaddafi, Serbia and Miloshevich, Iraq and Saddam, list go on.
