critical is correct, gw functions best in low to medium income areas, particularly with high city densities. in high income areas it will be overwhelmed by the more expensive power strats(mos/sm/pd).

Sasori dont listen to theses haters. Keep trying!. I think about take paris turn 2 and expand on balkans. You can overexpand using the 2 turns of the double wall in berlin. Back in my time, turkey was the worst pick against ukraine until slowind discovered how dumb was going full romania. Community will charge. Ignore haters and move on.

Clovis for the win. In him we trust. As for the merits of GW: The quality of the units are definitely low, however, if one plays GW properly, it'll be hard on anyone, pro or not. I've played GW so well that spectators or players who don't see the battle log mistake it for blitzkrieg.

Clovis is not a realist, certain country/strat combos possess certain advantages over others, if you choose to fight uphill battles then so be it. sure you might win, but you make things difficult for yourself. Unless ofc youre seeking a challenge. but no matter how many times and vs how many players you obtain wins over as germ vs ukraine, its still not disadvantaged battle. Pat yourself on the back if you do win.

Lategame GW is simply unstoppable. (Thats when you have both income and units.) However it is vulnerable to rushing first 4 turns. Only person ive seen play GW Germany adequately setting up an exposed cap trap with a recap, is Dbacks.

But the expancions can improve, and therefore, greatly charge fair/unfair battles. I have like 3 examples of this: 1) The first was, a lot of people crying for SM ukraine begin OP and unbeatable. You could see all theses post of "NERF SM" back in my time. Not even turkey could deal with it. However, there was a player (slowind) that discovered how unlessed is to overstack romania (DUH!). The first person I have seen doing a full and complete expancion without waste troop is slowind. After that, ukraine turned into an easy cake. 2) So yes after that the idea was that turkey is now too OP. There where no as many cry forums as with SM, but players with ukraine tends to rush more. This probably lasten 3 days or never happened ( because I only know player's reaction when someone that copied sw turkey had like 4 consecutive games without lose an turkey vs ukraine battle). But the thing is, that taking hungary or austria turn 1 was invented way too fast as a counter for turkey in balkans. Now you can say the game between turkey and ukraine is very balanced, but the truth is that turkey still have advantage. ( Though, after PD turkey rush, ukraine started to take the game serious. Back in my time, ukraine used to defend kiev with bombers and you could barely find more that 40 units. I tried this ancient ukraine against slowind, and I found that he, in the 3 chases, could get only 20-30 units back in ankara while I could get 26 bombers and some troops.) 3) So yes I beat tophats( serious mode) by rushing.... because he *tried* to do SW's turkey, I took serbia, bulgaria and greece first turn while he only took romania. Rush could very well counter most of the actual turkey gameplay, but this alternative is way too risky. Very few players tends to rush nowadays. You can also see how strats like GC and GW are no longer played as ukraine. 4) The same happens with germany vs ukraine. Back in the start, germany just couldn't beat ukraine. But there was a person (Hi I am that person) that discovered how unlessed was taking paris or london turn 2 ( and most germany players do this). You can use the units from benelux to protect your capital. Although this still does not make germany OP against ukraine, it still boost german chances of victory..... a lot. The usage of Anti-Air as well helped. The turk-ukraine combo will eventually be beated. But you need to try and encourage the others to try before this happen. I dont see any problem if Sasori want to make an GW expancion that work very well against ukraine. (Though GW germany is actually a killing machine against turkey). Just let them try. Of couse I dont think Sasori would do somenthing experimental on a CW, but he can do it by testing on Duels or other type of games related. As TopHats said, you need to encourage the players to beat "Turk-Ukraine combo".

In any case, there are GW expansions that can* beat SM. The issue really is SM's huge range. All any SM player has to do is take Hungary, Serb, RC, RNW, and a finland or baltic states in order to beat GW Germany. Because of the range, and the fact that GW has lower quality units, SM will always* beat GW in a rush. SM is usually only beaten as the result of a mistake. It's very rare of a circumstance that you win based on a single decisive turn against it. I would go into more detail, but the margin for error is so rare that if I exposed my method it would be useless ever trying in 1v1s lol. One important thing for anyone playing GW Germany: Upgraded submarines are extremely overpowered if you know what you're doing.
