Actually, Japan surrendered because of the Soviet invasion, rather then the Nukes

than this will be my last reply as well: >never ignored your post >I don't think my government has the right to kill people, only in times of war when necessary >> my family can't afford a lexus so stop thinking I' some sort of rich white kid because I'm not > You use radiation emitting from the bomb as a form of justification for why it should not have been dropped when no one knew that splitting an atom released radioactive electrons that could fracture the DNA inside of a cell resulting in destruction of the cell with dire consequences including cancer, deformities, and the ability to pass on broken egenes to offspring. All anyone knew was that splitting an atom emitted an explosion. Simple. > Don't understand human pain and suffering? You don't know a damn thing about my life so don't play the moral high ground. cheers

I am out of the debate then. Thanks for your replies. but I must say, if you want to be success you MUST respect orders. In school, in police, ever in army. (Of course, this is for at least 99% of the cases in which you are not born rich, or you don't get the LOTO, or any other kind of anomaly). German army were exclude from participating in the holocaust, at least the minor ones. They just followed orders, they did what the rules of that time told them that was right. How can someone be blamed for being right? On a additional note, I also remember that when German surrendered, the allies judged only the highest ranks rather than the whole army. After all, they were "the brain" of the army, those who makes the rules. And so on.... you cannot prove that the Japaneses that were order by the army to kill chineses really wanted to do it. However you can prove that their highest ranks grave the order to do it. And again, when U.S land on japan they didn't judged the whole army, but rather the highest ranks (as they did in Germany).

There certainly is a "should" for some of us that are still human, on the inside. Then you wonder why the whole world hates USA.Here it is, you justify the drop of human kinds worst creation, the atomic bomb, because it will win the war faster.Makes me sad the new generation, has a mindset like yours. It reminds me how doomed we are as a species. And keep in mind, that aslong there are people who support your governments murderous actions, they will continue doing the same things. And nice hypocrisy.Didnt you invade Syria because of chemical weapons?

I think the real question in this topic should be... Could you be the pilot that droped the nuclear bombs on hiroshima and nagasaki? I dont think i could live with that ...no matter what anyone told me, that it would mean saving milion lifes, ending the war ...i couldnt live with knowing i killed children.

First of all, you seem to assume I'm an American. I'm definitely not, and I most definitely do not support the U.S. intervention in Syria. Second, what is wrong with my point? The war has started. It is absolutely awful, consuming able-bodied, good men from both sides. The civilized method of resolving differences no longer exist. It is either win or lose. The leadership of the United States had no obligation to anyone else except their own citizens. So, if the death of some number of foreigners is going to end the war, and stop the constant, comparable American casualties in it, the American leadership were right to go for it. I'm sorry if that bothers you, but that's war. There is no such thing as a good side, or a moral action. There is only my side, which I, whether as a statesman, soldier, or a worker in war industry, am obligated to support, and their side, which I am obligated to stop, using whatever tools I have at my disposal, from harming my side.

How you say Americans are U.S citizens. Well I am american, and I was not born nor living in U.S nor have any legal note for stay there. Plus, I don't remember my country participating on that war. How can you say our american population was going to die because this war?

If you cant see from yourself how wrong and dangerous your way of thinking is, i dont think i can help you or convince you.It probably has to do with the way, you were brought up, because it is the same selfishness and egocentrism, that most Americans share, stereotypical yeah i know and thats why i called you an American.Soldiers and governments choose to go to war, without the civilians consent. Its only fair they leave them out of it.Human life must be respected. That shouldnt be up to debate. Also, If you do not care about civilian lifes as you say, then dont blame the Taliban suicide bombers.Dont blame the people driving the planes on 9/11 and dont blame ISIS and dont blame Hitler, in the end.And if Russia goes to war with the USA dont blame them if they nuke washington and new york into oblivion, along with all the citizens living there.Right? Not to mention atomic bombs specifically, are one of the few things, that can actually lead to the extinction of our species and the destruction of our planet. So whatever nationality and political/military stance, one has, it only takes half a brain and a shred of survival instinct, to realize, we should all be against it.No disrespect, its just my opinion.

Suspicious fact? Yes. If you read pamphlets released by scientist regarding the Manhattan Project, there was no mention regarding radiation. Furthermore, it was discovered that those who worked closely with the bomb developed cancer later on in life due to their work. Some of these people included top scientist. If they knew this weapon could lead to cancer, would you think they would have the men with some of the smartest brains in the world working so close to potential death? As you may also know, DNA was only discovered a decade earlier. Atoms were hardly understood at the time and the relationship between DNA, disease, and cancer were not entirely clear. It was not until after the bombings where the effects could be observed was this then realized. Pieces of rock that were fused together due to testing in the desert were actually taken home by scientist, workers, and government officials as well as sold at stores (almost like a memento or piece of history). It was not known that these emitted radiation enough to cause DNA fracturing, a breakdown in meiosis and mitosis checkpoints, leading to the cause of rapid cell growth (benign tumour) which would eventually spread (malignant tumour) while resulting in deformation of offspring due to mutated egg and/or sperm cells. Regarding nuking Germany, may I ask you to go into further detail? I supported the bombing of Japan as I do not currently believe they would have surrendered without deaths exceeding the total killed in the bombings. Had Germany decided to wage continued war against the allies than unfortunately yes, nuking them would have been an option. This was why two bombs were made-one for Japan, and the other for Germany (also, they were making a plutonium and uranium bomb as they were seeing which one would work-they both did.) What occurred in RL in regards to Germany toward the end of the war, nuking them would have been atrocious in the sense that their military had already collapsed, the soviets were already closing in on Berlin, Hitler was dead, etc. For the record, I do not support the use of nuclear weapons unless in extreme circumstances. Simply using them because you are at war (no pun intended) does not (in my mind) warrant the use of them.
