Ask any question you have about the Forum Game. If you are unsure what a term or keyword means then you are free to ask, I will try to clarify any misunderstanding.

F.A.Q: How long is a turn?
- A turn is 24 hours long, but I make exceptions in order to make it more playable.

F.A.Q: What does a consul do?
-A consul makes propositions in the senate, consuls are meant to protect Rome from internet and external threats.

F.A.Q: What happens if Rome runs out of cash?
-Everyone loses except rebel commanders.

F.A.Q: What happen if we don't go to war?
-If there is 3 non-persecuted 4 active wars by the end of the turn, then everyone loses

F.A.Q: What does the censor do?
-censors persecute corrupt officials

F.A.Q: How many people can the censor persecute per turn?
-2 minor persecutions & 1 major one

F.A.Q: What are all of the turn phases?

F.A.Q: What laws can be enacted?

Calpurian law: Censors can now fine corrupt governors that return to Rome. To determine the fine the censor will roll a dice roll and the governor must pay the same # as the roll.

Acilian Law: The power of the censor to fine corrupt governors is transfered to the faction with most equites during the senate phase. (Can't be enacted unless Calpurin law is enacted)

Military Reform: The power of the senate becomes more military oriented, players can no longer win by accumulating 35 influence.

Servilian Law: Your faction is now the champion of the Equestrians, this gives you a permanent +1 Dice roll when attracting knights. Discard this law in order to abolish the Acilian Law. (Can't be enacted unless Acilian Law is enacted).

Tradition Erodes: Consuls may repeat terms in succeeding years without limit (Can't be enacted unless a war with 15 or more military strength is active)

F.A.Q: Who enacts the laws?

What is faction cash? What if you don't join or wish to join a faction?

Players can create factions, faction members can deposit their money inside a faction's "bank". Any cash put inside the faction's bank remains hidden.

Why would you put your money inside the faction's bank? because no one will be able to see if you buy intrigue cards, bribe a player, fund a fellow faction member that went rogue. If you don't hide your cash it will look suspicious when a senator is nearly killed and 20 gold coins are suddenly missing from your personal wealth.

What factions can we join?

Currently there is no factions. To create a faction you need: 1 leader and 2 members (3 people in total).

Factions vote as a bloc, the leader decides how the faction will vote. You can leave/join a faction during the intrigue phase (The last phase before turn ends)

hum, can faction have more than 2 members?

Been researching the board game, will we be given cards?

Also when a land is taken over do we cote for who runs it?

You want to read 200 pages worth of rules?

micro managing the cards of 21 players within a single topic is borderline impossible, so i simplified it by removing senator/statesman/leader cards. Concessions and Laws are available to the consuls by default, Tax Farm was turned into the corruption of the revenue phase. Intrigue cards can be bought with gold coins. War cards and event cards are handled by me every turn instead of having the player draw them with initiatives.

Consuls always nominate a governor to empty provinces and then senators vote yes/no

God no.. I don't expect you to tea all that, just wondering

So what are intrigue cards, how much are they and how do we buy them?

And if we don't get a faction we're basically fucked right?

Could you send link to the game site you're talking about. I'm bored af with nothing to do right now....
Yes you need a faction else you're gonna end up an independent and die quickly.

In the Game of Rome, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.

You can always try to win without a faction by making sure any faction that is created collapses.

Influence are only used in case you are persecuted for corruption, or if you want to become consul for life.

If you are being persecuted the senate will vote do determine if you are innocent or guilty (you participate in the vote too). If you don't want this vote to happen you will be left with the following choices: go into self-imposed exile or appeal to popularity.

Minor persecutions result in -5 influence, -5 popularity and the loss of your status as former consul if any
Major persecutions always result in execution. (Only those who have or had last turn a high ranking office can be persecuted like this)

Consuls can veto a persecution.

What is proscription

When a civil war ends, the victorious consul/dictator can use proscription to kill all the equites of the defeated faction. Not only will the defeated faction lose all of its equites, but members of such faction will also be banned from attracting more equites. The consul/dictator then will roll a dice for every single equite killed and will get the result in gold.

Scritto da Phoenix, 06.08.2016 at 20:34

and what is tribune...

You can either use it to veto a proposition or to make a proposition of your own.

Scritto da Phoenix, 06.08.2016 at 20:34

and what does blackmail do?

You can use it against a player, it gives them -5 influence if they refuse to vote the way you want.

Scritto da Phoenix, 06.08.2016 at 20:34

How much influence do you get for influence pedaling?

The name is misleading, what it actually does is it changes a player's faction affiliation.

For obvious reasons, all of those intrigue "cards" have a 1 time use and can only be brought during the intrigue phase.

Only if you choose to do so, but this is what will be included in your profile:

1GodofWar1
Status: [Alive] Location: [Rome] Title: [Senator] Affiliation: [Loyal]
Personal Income: [4]
Wealth: [6] Popularity: [Zero]
Faction: [WarGods]
Knights: [1]

Tirpitz406
Status: [Alive] Location: [Rome] Title: [Senator] Affiliation: [Loyal]
Personal Income: [4]
Wealth: [6] Popularity: [Zero]
Faction: [WarGods]
Knights: [1]

Anyone can take a look at your "profile" and know what faction you belong to, but i won't mention your party affiliation myself.
