Recently, there has been a surge of advertisements unrelated to AtWar on these forums. It is getting quite irritating, and I believe that some action must be taken to reduce the number of these advertisements.

I propose the following:

Moderators may flag any forum posts that have at least one link to an external site as advertisement.
Any forum post flagged by two or more moderators will be classed as advertisement, and removed from the forums.
All links to external sites in forum posts classed as advertisement will be recorded, and no forum posts may, in the future, link to the same external sites.

Comment and discuss.

This is an extreme idea. This small issue can be resolved easily and efficiently if the mods actually care and delete these spam posts and threads. It doesn't require alot of effort to do so, just delete on spot what is seeing as spam and that'd it

That's one way of going about it, but I hate arbitrary measures... :/

I'd recommend that the admins build an automated program to detect advertisement posts, but it is my understanding that such a program is very difficult to write even for good programmers, so I thought that the agreement of two mods will do well enough.

Also, note my last point.

I added that in because it will effectively keep any particular site from being advertised more than once. So all those FIFA adverts? All gone in just one move.

I trust Mods to deal with stuff like that, it would be a lot more "faster" if they just remove/lock/move to off-topic without previous announcement.

For ban adventisements, I support hdra: that is an extreme idea.

btw, devs are working on HTML5, so I barely see future on any kind of improvement that requires to add or remove any feature on the game.

I suggest a minimum rank for posting on forums, to make it harder for these guys than just making an account and spamming.

Rank 3 seems nice. Heck maybe even 2.

I actually think that if there is a minimum rank for posting of forums, rank 1 will do just as nicely.

Heck, even a 1 SP barrier would effectively stop most spambots.

I usually report them a little after they're posted, and they get taken care of quickly. All you have to do is report the forum post.

Eh even the least capable rank 2 should be able to figure out how to get to level 3, 2 or 3 are good minimum ranks, or they should be able to navigate the forums enough or pm a mod
