This 5v5 scenario recreates the World War II in Europe, North Africa and Middle East.

Settings
Suggested turn duration: 5 minutes.
Victory condition: capture player capital and hold for 2 turn.
Max. game duration: 50 turns.

Quota:
Early game: turns 1-8;
Mid game: turns 9-23;
Late game: turns 24-50.

United Kingdom
Difficulty level: 2.5 / 5
Recommended strategy: Imperialist, Naval Commander, Iron Fist, GW, Lucky Bastard.
Goals: Maintain maritime dominance at the Celtic Seas and Greater North Sea, delay Italy at the Mediterranean/North Africa and aid USA landings. Capture Norway and keep your mainland walled and prepared for a german invasion.
Notes: Do not lose Malta or Gibraltar. Scotland is a potential target if Germany tries to do an invasion.

Goals: Push the Axis out of Africa and invade the Balkans.
Notes: Enemy will get event units in Syria and Transjordan.

Notes: If you don't wanna wait your event to invade Normandy, do it attacking Netherlands. Don't lose Africa!

Goals: Push germans back to Berlin, hold Stalingrad and Leningrad at all cost.
Notes: Protect Moscow and Novgorod, those are important cities that will help you keep both Stalingrad and Leningrad safe. Wait for your event before attacking the Nazi Army Group in Don. Use your conscripts in Sverdlovsk to make 2 layers of walls.

Goals: Stay alive until the Allies take France, push Grenoble and Paris if possible.
Notes: Your cities have good special units (French Resistance Cell), but they can be destroyed with little effort if Germany start to focus on you.

Germany: Third Reich
Difficulty level: 2.5 / 5
Recommended strategy: Perfect Defense, IF, Imperialist, Great Combinator, Sky Menace.
Goals: Hold France at all cost.
Notes: Make walls, thousands of them. If you wanna play offensive, try to capture England by doing a joint operation with Oberkommando to take Wales and/or Scotland. Naval transport becomes available at turn 6.

Notes: Wait for your event before attacking Stalingrad. Moscovo and Novgorod must be captured soon as possible.

Goals: Must fight in all fronts. Try to keep Soviet Union busy at Finland and help Axis to hold Greece at all cost.
Notes: Crete and Afrika Korps are your most important cities.

Kingdom of Italy
Difficulty level: 4.5 / 5
Recommended strategy: Imperialist, Perfect Defense, Naval Commander.
Goals: Keep Allies busy in North Africa as long as you can and aid Germany to hold France.
Notes: Enemy will get event units in your territory, so don't waste time and resources making too much sea walls (only wall where its essential). If you wanna rush Malta, do it with some of the early game battleships available for Italy: Vittorio Veneto.

    Hints:
  • Bombers are good against all kinds of defence structures, but weak when attacking AA guns.
  • USA have two types of secondary attack units the Mortar Team (UK also have it), and the M8 Greyhound. They have the same stats, but the Mortar Team are weak against MGs, and the M8 Greyhound are weak agains the Pak 40.
  • The special unit Atlantic Wall isn't a common defence structure, so bombers have no bonuses against it.
  • Only Oberkommando has access to air transports, the Arado Ar 232 "Millipede" (turns 12-50).
  • The Third Reich isn't allowed to wall Vichy in turn 1, that's an informal rule.
  • All "Capital" units have +100 defence bonus against all kinds of stealth units.
  • USA and UK should go Imperialist if they wants to fund USSR.
  • Soviet "Capital" unit have huge defence bonuses against stealth, aircraft and cavalry.
  • As USSR, the best way to defend yourself in early game is to use Soviet Winter Infantry and Advanced Pillbox wisely and in large scale.
  • By the end of turn 38, USSR will have -4000 income from War Exhaustion.

You seem good mapmaker, why don't you try WW3 as your next project? You can make two WW3s: one only europe+, and second whole world.

Keep in mind atwar is small now, so map/scen shouldn't more than 10 players (15 if game is whole world). If you need help with WW3/Cold War history, message me and i'll give my best to help.

Thanks! Cold War is definitely on my list for future projects, events might be inspired on Twilight Struggle event cards, which is my favorite tabletop wargame.

In WW2, it is well known that the east front was hard to traverse, and that the Germans and Soviets both struggled to transport materials across the front line. The Soviets were especially bad at this. Therefore, in order to balance the game and in order to keep the game in accordance with reality, I think Estus should remove the Soviet transports. About the latest changes, now Kingdom of Italy have a new heavy naval unit, the Vittorio Veneto battleship, which is available until turn 4 only.



Edit: now with Blitz buffed, Balkans got nerfed and must pay more for a less efficient naval transport unit.
